Evergreen Rhythm

TO AUDITION:

Rehearsals are held weekly on Mondays, 8-10 PM at Open Flight Studios in the U-District.

The first hour is dedicated to professional-level dance training, while the second hour focuses on creating, developing, and maintaining a repertoire of routines.

Performances are opt-in based on interest and availability, but all company members are expected to learn the material. Dancers will have regular opportunities to create original material and contribute to choreography.

Company members must maintain an active membership at Jazztime Seattle, though scholarships are available as needed. Members may take breaks and return with approval from the directors. Dancers are expected to retain the choreography they have learned and may need to practice outside of rehearsals to stay current with the repertoire.

Auditions are accepted year-round. Dancers must audition with a partner. If you do not currently have one, email us and we will help connect you with other interested dancers.

To audition, submit a video of you and your partner dancing any version of the California Routine (air steps not required) to "Jumpin' at the Woodside" by Count Basie, followed by one chorus of improvised solo jazz. Send your video to info@jazztimeseattle.com for consideration.*

* If you are an experienced dancer from another discipline, please reach out! We are happy to help exceptional movement artists learn Lindy Hop and enter the company on a fast track.

July 6 - Aug 31 — Bebop Routine (solo & partnered), completed and filmed by end of August

Sep 7 - Dec 17 — Fast Lindy Jam Routine, to be performed at Stormy Weather Jazz Dance Festival

January onward — TBD via group discussions
